Version 2.4.0 brings several highly requested features: a Timeline block, a cart reservation Timer block, an automatic tiered free-gift system and a new cross-sell list block — plus performance optimizations that speed up your page loading.
The cart now displays nested products cleanly, in particular bundles created with Shopify Bundles, in a clear and structured way.
A new block for the cart that shows a countdown telling your customer how long their items stay reserved, creating a sense of urgency and reducing abandonment.
A new cross-sell list block that can connect directly to Shopify’s automatic complementary products (from the Search & Discovery app), in addition to a manual selection. Your recommendations stay relevant and update on their own.
A new automatic tiered free-gift system in the cart: past a threshold, one or more gift products are added automatically, then removed if the cart drops back below it.
New spacing settings, with several preset levels, let you loosen or tighten the header navigation to match your branding, without touching the code.
The product gallery now supports zoom: your visitors can click an image to view it full screen and inspect the details. Especially useful in grid view, where visuals carry part of your message.
You can now position the product gallery thumbnails to the left or right of the main image, in addition to the classic layout below it — a format often used on premium stores that puts the imagery more in the spotlight.
A new block to present a journey or process step by step.
The Marquee block now lets you set a specific scroll speed on mobile, independent from desktop.
On collection pages, sticky filters now account for the header height: they no longer slip under the header when scrolling.
The default content (presets) of sections and blocks has been reviewed in every language, so adding a new section starts from a clean, properly translated base.
Several performance optimizations have been made: improved image loading, better fetch-priority handling and a non-blocking way of loading dynamic icons. The result: pages that display faster.
The Design System section is more explicit about the theme settings it refers to, and its default colour-swatch images have been updated, so you understand faster which settings to adjust.
You can now show or hide the caret (arrow) icons on the header dropdown menus, depending on the navigation style you want.
Containers now allow different inner paddings between mobile and desktop, so you can fine-tune your spacing on each format.
You can now remove the separator borders on the cart header and footer, for a cleaner look better aligned with your design.
The variant selector now shows the selected value next to the option name (for example “Colour: Brown”). Customers can see at a glance which variant is selected, removing any doubt on colour swatches.
Colour swatches accept gradient backgrounds again, as was possible in version 1 of the theme. Handy if your visual identity relies on gradients.
Fixed an issue where the review count did not always display when reviews came from metaobjects or metafields, depending on the review app used.
Fixed an issue where Stories videos could cut off before the end. They now play all the way through.
Fixed an issue where, used as a cross-sell in the product section, the Featured Collection block showed the main product’s price on every card. Each card now shows its own price.
Fixed an issue where the background colour set via the swatch was not applied to the Quantity Breaks block.
Fixed an issue where, when changing pages (on a collection for example), the view stayed at the bottom; it now scrolls back to the top automatically.
Fixed an issue where the Marquee block’s scroll speed varied with the number of items displayed. It is now constant.
Fixed a flickering of the sticky add-to-cart when scrolling over the footer.
Fixed an issue where the card border stayed visible after turning off card mode on Group blocks.
Fixed an overflow of the Slider block when placed inside a group next to another block.
Fixed an issue where the “Show part of the next image” setting also shrank products that had only one image. The display is now consistent regardless of the number of images.
